BIOGRAPHY
ALLEN HAMILTON
made his Broadway debut in The House of Atreus, directed by Tyrone
Guthrie and was last seen in New York as Uncle Ben in 1999 in this Tony
winning production of Death of a Salesman. Mr Hamilton has worked
with regional theatre companies throughout the United States. He has
appeared at the Arizona Theatre Company, Charles Playhouse in Boston, Mark
Taper Forum in Los Angeles, Goodman Theatre in Chicago, Ahmanson Theatre in
Los Angeles, Fox Theatre in St.Louis, Shubert Theatre in Boston and Arena
Stage in Washington DC. His many and varied roles include Tobias in A
Delicate Balance, Murray in A Thousand Clowns, Pozzo in
Waiting for Godot, Herbie in Gypsy, Jerry in Betrayal,
Robert in A Life in the Theatre and King Lear. Mr Hamilton has
continued his association with the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis, Minnesota
for over 35 years. In the early years he appeared in Tyrone Guthrie’s
production of The House of Atreus, Edward Payson Call’s production of
Julius Caesar and Arturo Ui, Philip Minor’s The Beauty Part
and in Michael Langham’s A Play by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn. He
appeared in Candida directed by William Gaskill, The Seagull
directed by Lucian Pintilie, A Midsummer Night’s Dream directed by
Liviu Ciulei and Richard III directed by Garland Wright. Mr Hamilton
has acted in dozens of television movies and feature films including Only
the Lonely, Untamed Heart, Code of Silence and The Fugitive. Allen Hamilton
makes his home in Minneapolis, Minnesota with his wife, actress Camille
D’Ambrose.
