BIOGRAPHY
KENNETH JAY: A native Canadian, Kenneth trained at Ryerson in Toronto
and appeared in that city during the 1970’s in such diverse productions as
A Lime in the Morning, Baudelaire, The Mute Canary, Sexual Perversity in
Chicago, the Marowitz Hamlet, and Woody Allen’s God. Since moving
to the U.K., theatre includes weekly rep at Frinton-on-Sea, Love’s
Labours Lost at Cricklewood Village; Who’s Afraid of Abbie Hoffmann
at the Edinburgh Festival; national tours of Adam's Dream, Witness for
the Prosecution, and Noises Off; A Midsummer Night’s Dream and
Measure for Measure for the A B and C Theatre Company; I Ought To Be
In Pictures for the Vienna English Theatre; Naked Justice for
Birmingham Rep; The Odd Couple for Manchester Library Theatre; and
Problem Child for Suspect Package Theatre Co. Kenneth also headed an
international cast in The Imaginary Invalid for Theatre of Eternal
Values (TEV) which toured Europe. West End appearances include The Boys
Next Door, Indian Ink, and Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, as well as
understudy roles in Prisoner of Second Avenue, Enigmatic Variations, Up
For Grabs, Hitchcock Blonde, and Coyote on a Fence. Film and
television includes Cousin Bette, The Bill, Emmerdale, Happy Birthday
Shakespeare, Baddiel’s Syndrome, Hotel, and Great Wonders of the Industrial
World: The Brooklyn Bridge. Kenneth will be seen this year as Harry Truman
in the BBC docu-drama Hiroshima.
