BIOGRAPHY 
 
EMMA STUART (Assistant Director) Emma read English at Cambridge University. She has previously acted as Assistant Director to Sean Mathias on Aladdin (Old Vic), Zinnie Harris on Midwinter (RSC), Dominic Cooke on Macbeth (RSC), Bill Alexander on King Lear (RSC) , Stephen Unwin on Romeo and Juliet (English Touring Theatre), Edward Hall on Edmond (National Theatre), David Farr on A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Bristol Old Vic), Gordon Anderson on Great Expectations (Bristol Old Vic), Sam West on Les Liaisons Dangereuses (Bristol Old Vic) and Kathy Burke on Betty (KDM, Vaudeville) and Kosher Harry (Royal Court). She was director in Residence for the Newcastle and London runs of Macbeth and Midwinter (RSC). Emma has directed Mamet Workshops at the Actor’s Centre, The Woods (NT Studio Workshop) Zoo Story (Gate Theatre) and The Lover, Much Ado about Nothing, Cinderella, The Tempest, and Abigail’s Party (Cambridge University). Emma won a 6 month bursary for directors supported by the Bulldog Prinsep Theatrical Fund to work with the National Theatre Studio in 2003 and is a script reader for the Gate Theatre and Act Productions. She also co-ordinates monthly Open Page evenings for writers at the Old Vic.
